Rutgers Day – Guests to Rutgers Day enjoy free performances, tours, exhibits, hands-on activities, lectures, demonstrations and more. Rutgers Day expands the long-standing success of Ag Field Day and the New Jersey Folk Festival to encompass university campuses across New Brunswick and Piscataway. Middlebrook Encampment – July Fourth. Site of two encampments of major portions of Washington's Continental Army. Ceremony at 10:30 a.m. Changing of the 13-star flag and historical address. 732-356-2692.
QuickChek N.J. Festival of Ballooning at Solberg Airport – As many as 125 colorful hot air balloons making ascensions into the air twice a day to three headline concerts, world-class children's entertainment, hundreds of arts & crafters, food vendors from around the world, twice daily old time barnstorming air shows, amusement rides, fireworks, balloon glows and more round out the list of attractions. 973-882-5464.
Fireworks – Every Independence Day numerous cities in Central Jersey host firework celebrations. Among these are East Brunswick, Piscataway and Perth Amboy.

Middlesex County Fair – The Middlesex County Fair includes food, games, rides and much more! The Middlesex County Fair also features tents staffed with businesses and organizations from around the region.
