Committees of the Chamber
Do you want to leverage your Chamber Membership or maximize your exposure? If so, get involved. Join a NECC committee! As we plan an exciting calendar of networking and business opportunities, we encourage you and your employees to join one of our committees. Most committees meet monthly and some even less, like Scholarship or Golf Outing. You can be active on one or many of the committees... whichever fits best into your schedule.
CHAMBER COMMITTEES
Biz Expo Tradeshow
Organize the annual multi-chamber tradeshow. This business-to-business tabletop event attracts over 150 exhibitors and 1,000 attendees.
Budget and Finance
Monitor Chamber and Foundation finances. Prepare the annual budget.
Government Relations
Work to bring area legislators and government officials together with the business community through meetings and luncheons. Keep our membership abreast of legislative issues that affect our business community.
Marketing & Communications
Focus on establishing appropriate marketing and public relations for the Chamber and its membership. Create the Chamber newsletter, directory, area map and other publications.
Membership
Work to develop and grow membership for the Chamber. Become an Ambassador; greet and recruit new members and encourage participation in Chamber activities.
President’s Banquet
Coordinate and plan annual awards banquet honoring the incoming and outgoing Chamber Presidents, Board of Directors and special Chamber and community leaders.
Programming and Networking
Develop, host and organize a variety of programs, seminars and meetings for the professional development and networking benefit of the membership.
Taste of Essex
Be part of the largest fundraising event of the year. Coordinate and run this culinary extravaganza featuring great Essex County restaurant cuisine accompanied by wine and beer tasting. This event includes a gift auction to benefit the Foundation’s scholarship fund.
Technology and Web Presence
Promote member businesses through education and mentoring and the use and application of our website.
FOUNDATION COMMITTEES
Education
Serve as a conduit between area educational institutions and our business community, and help to promote revelant and effective educational strategies.
Golf Outing
Organize the annual summer golf outing to raise money for the Foundation’s Scholarship Fund.
Scholarship Selection
Review and select applicants and present the Foundation scholarship awards to the recipients at the annual awards breakfast.
