
Ocean City provides an outstanding, well-rounded education for its residents, from kindergarten through college. The Ocean City Primary School on West between Fifth and Sixth Streets takes children through third grade. Fourth, fifth and sixth graders attend the intermediate school through eighth grade.
If you’d like to send your child to a denominational school, Ocean City has St. Augustine’s, a parochial school.
A new high school opened for the 2004-2005 school year, offering first-rate classrooms and staff to educate the 1,715 students from Ocean City and surrounding areas. New curriculum includes TV/Media production, Design and Technology for Engineering, AP Studio Art, and American Sign Language. The high school has created an environment for kids to excel by hiring dedicated teachers (many with advanced degrees) and keeping class sizes small.
Though many of Ocean City’s high school students attend colleges out of state, many colleges are available within minutes from Ocean City.
The Richard Stockton College is a liberal arts school located on 1,600 acres in the heart of the scenic pinelands of Pomona. It is a small school with a strong faculty and was named by U.S. News as one of the best colleges in 2005. It was also given a Best Northeastern College distinction from the Princeton Review.
Approximately 10 miles south, a brand new Cape May Court House satellite campus of Atlantic Cape Community College was just built last year and offers students the ability to stay close to home, save some money, and either head on to a different college or stay and gain a two-year degree. Certificate courses are also offered.
