Ocean City is a community in touch with and respectful of the traditional values that our founders brought here over 125 years ago. We remain a wonderful place to raise a family, to retire, to invest and of course to visit time and time again, generation after generation.
If you’ve recently moved to Ocean City or are thinking about settling here, we’d like to make things easy for you.
Information about city services is easily accessible on our local government website, www.ocnj.us/. This includes site maps, city ordinance availability, on-line payment systems and links to other city sites that feature our special events and shopping information.
Another good source is Channel 2 on your TV, which highlights current happenings, trash pick-up schedules and emergency information when necessary. We invite you to take advantage of our advanced technology or to stop by and visit us at City Hall, 861 Asbury Avenue.
Ocean City is one of the East Coast’s finest year-round resort cities, with eight miles of beautiful beaches, 2.5 miles of boardwalk, fine-dining establishments and a downtown shopping district with many unique specialty shops. Enjoy boardwalk amusements, concerts on the Music Pier, or a round of golf at our municipal course located adjacent to the municipal airport.
Our community has an excellent school system with parks and recreation fields and facilities that support a variety of sports activities. Our Cultural/Community Center offers a public library, art center, historical museum and an aquatic center where one can participate in many fitness classes, or take a swim in the Olympic size pool.
Ocean City holds special events, which includes huge downtown block parties, the DooDah, Baby, Halloween, 4th of July and Christmas parades, the famous Night In Venice Boat Parade, the Miss New Jersey Pageant, the colorful Flower Show and the popular First Night Festival on New Year’s Eve to name just a few.
Enjoy our great community and all the amenities we have to offer in “America’s Greatest Family Resort.”
