The Phillipsburg area is growing rapidly with an excellent economic outlook. Its major industries include Atlantic States Cast Iron Pipe Company, Mallinckrodt Baker Company, Inc., the Phillipsburg School District and Warren Hospital. Smaller industries are located in industrial parks in Alpha Borough and Lopatcong Township.
Large retailers such as Wal-Mart, Target, Shop-Rite and Stop & Shop grocery stores provide a large percentage of employment. Small businesses offer unique products and personalized services.
Phillipsburg is aggressively seeking new businesses and offers attractive development incentives through its downtown Urban Enterprise Zone. Shoppers will save with a 3 percent New Jersey sales tax.
