Somerset County Quality of Life
Somerset County has long been recognized for its extraordinary educational institutions, including Raritan Valley Community College and Somerset County Technical Institute, which both offer outstanding technology training.
Two nationally known universities, Rutgers and Princeton, are within a short drive. Healthcare in the county has remained ahead of the curve at the Somerset Medical Center, a nationally accredited 355-bed facility with a new state-of-the-art emergency room and the Steeplechase Cancer Center.
Venues for the performing arts include the Raritan Valley Community College 984-seat theater and the 383-seat Brook Arts Center. The Planetarium at Raritan Valley Community College seats 120 visitors for star-studded shows.
Shopping opportunities range from classic town centers to the 900,000 square-foot Bridgewater Commons Regional Shopping Center and the recently completed 94,000 square-foot upscale, open-air addition, The Village at Bridgewater Commons.
