imageWe Care About Our Seniors...

Not only do senior citizens stay in Warren County because the housing remains affordable, but many others come to Warren County for that same reason. The area’s subdued pace and pastoral open spaces nicely complement a retiree’s lifestyle. Three examples of active retirement communities, Heath Village, the House of the Good Shepherd and Paragon Village all accommodate seniors, and two more senior developments are planned in Mansfield and Allamuchy, giving area residents opportunities to stay in their communities, and newcomers reason to locate here.

Shuttle service assists senior living in the Hackettstown-Washington-Phillipsburg corridor, as does the Warren County Division of Senior Services, which provides nutrition and social centers, financial and legal aid, Meals at Home, home repairs and volunteer opportunities, among other offerings. With public transportation in the area somewhat limited, Senior Services provides many in-home services, including those provided by the volunteers of the Retired Senior Volunteer Program (RSVP).

Seniors in need of assisted living have options at Warren Haven and Forest Manor, as well as at the House of the Good Shepherd and Heath Village. Seniors with questions about programs available to them call the Warren County Senior Services toll-free hotline, 877-222-3737.
