Chamber Letter

Alamogordo is a great place to live and do business. While our city is growing, it has retained its small town atmosphere. Two new major companies are now ramping up operations in Alamogordo: Marietta Biscuit Company, Inc., which bakes cookies and will eventually employ 300 people; and PreCheck, Inc., a Houston company that specializes in background checks in the medical field and will eventually employ 200 people. Also coming to Holloman Air Force Base is the new F-22 Raptor fighter jet which will replace the F-117 Stealth fighter, currently flown at Holloman Air Force Base. The F-22 is the newest aircraft in the U.S. Air Force inventory.

Located in the high desert next to the Sacramento Mountains, our city enjoys a number of outside activities a short distance from town. These activities include hiking, paragliding, snow skiing, camping and golfing. Speaking of golf, a new clubhouse has recently been completed and is now open for business. This clubhouse is a great addition to the existing golf course.

Our city has a diversity of cultures. English, Spanish, and German are the three languages spoken in our community. We have many events and festivals, these include the Oktoberfest sponsored by the German Air Force, White Sands Balloon Invitational, Cottonwood Festival, concerts in the summertime at the International Space Hall of Fame, and the Cinco de Mayo celebration. There is always something going on.

As you look through this membership directory, take a look at the number and diversity of businesses that make up the Alamogordo Chamber of Commerce. We are proud to hold the title as a Four-Star Accredited Chamber. This is evidence that the citizens and businesses of Alamogordo care about this city. We support each other and know that a successful business climate in the city leads to success for all the people and businesses of our city.
