Dedication to faith through worship is a deeply rooted tradition in Carlsbad. The community’s first church was Grace Episcopal Mission, chartered in 1889 and dedicated in 1892. The establishment of further religious institutions followed shortly after, laying the foundation for today’s rich spiritual community. Carlsbad continues to embrace its diversity through a wealth of places of worship located within the community. No matter what the religious affiliation, residents and visitors alike are guaranteed to find a fellowship to suit any religious need. In addition to regular services, many of these institutions provide further programming, such as faith-based education, adult and youth groups, and a variety of outreach programs and volunteer opportunities with a mission to support the community at-large.
