In March 1907, Mr. James Isaac Hobbs and his family, wandering west in their covered wagon, put down roots in the southeast section of the territory of New Mexico known as the site of Hobbs.

What started off as a community of merely 25 landowners turned into a growing community of over 38,000 people. Hobbs currently stands as the metropolitan hub of Lea County and West Texas offering both residents and visitors amenities of a large city as well as the friendliness and expedience of a small town.
