Portales Recreation
Recreational offerings in the city include a golf course, parks, swimming pools, tennis courts, playgrounds, softball and baseball fields, a youth recreation center, an archery range, racquetball courts, fitness center, a two-screen movie cinema and musical and theater productions. There are four parks in and around Portales, including a new and unique skateboarding park and the Oasis State Park that is located right outside of the city limits.
The Portales Recreation Complex offers walking trails, four baseball parks, senior citizens center, soccer fields and a model airplane landing strip. The Memorial Building is a community facility used to host family, social and business functions. There are also many annual and seasonal events and activities for the entire family sponsored by various nonprofit groups and ENMU.
