Portales Events and Activities
Year-round events help to keep our small, friendly town bubbling with fun and activities. The New Mexico Agricultural Expo, the state’s premier agricultural trade show, is the single largest agricultural event in New Mexico. Thousands of people from the southwest region attend this trade show for the latest technological advances in agriculture. The Annual Heritage Days Celebration’s various activities are a hit with the entire family. With activities such as geocaching, barrel racing, a softball tournament and gospel grass music, there is something for everyone.
Other events and attractions include the annual 4th of July fireworks show; the Roosevelt County Fair; youth, collegiate and professional rodeos; Christmas Light Parade; ENMU Homecoming Parade; Peanut Valley Festival and St. Helens Fall Fiesta.
