State-of-the-art health care facilities offer a complete array of medical services to residents throughout the Southern Dutchess area and the Hudson Valley. Access to acute inpatient medical and surgical services, outpatient diagnostic and therapeutic services, and 24-hour emergency room are available county-wide.

Craig House Hospital is a modern, private psychiatric hospital in Beacon, which specializes in the treatment of psychiatric and addictive disorders for adults, young adults and adolescents including depression, anxiety, chemical dependencies and other emotional and behavioral problems.

St. Francis Hospital is a voluntary Catholic, not-for-profit corporation with a fully-accredited, multi-faceted, 295-bed acute care facility in Poughkeepsie and a 100-bed chemical dependency treatment center, The Turning Point, in Beacon. St. Francis Hospital also serves as the Area Trauma Center for the Mid-Hudson Valley.

Vassar Brothers Hospital, a 315-bed facility in Poughkeepsie, has over 400 physicians and dentists on its Medical and Dental Staff. The Hospital’s Center for Women & Children offers maternity services, a Level II Neonatal Intensive Care Unit and the only pediatric unit in Dutchess County, a medical day care program called Sick Bay and the John and Nancy O’Shea Pediatric Special Center, with specialists from New York Medical College on hand. The Hospital’s cancer program gives Mid-Hudson Valley residents access to high quality cancer care without leaving the area. The Radiation Oncology Center offers the only hospital based radiation therapy program between Albany and Westchester County.

The Cardiology Center at Vassar Brothers Hospital encompasses state-of-the-art nuclear stress testing, offers a freestanding cardiac catheterization laboratory, and open-heart surgery. The Hospital also operates very active Same Day Surgery and Outpatient Departments as well as the busiest Emergency Room in the region.

VA Hudson Valley Health Care System, consisting of two campuses - Castle Point in Dutchess County, FDR Montrose in Westchester County, and several Community Based Outpatient Clinics, offers comprehensive medical and psychiatric care to area veterans.
