The Wellsville area is known for some of the best fishing, trapping and hunting in New York State. Annually, Allegany County's harvest per square mile is greater than all other counties for both whitetail deer and turkey. Woodland trails abound and are great for hiking, biking, birdwatching, horseback riding, cross-country skiing and snowmobile enthusiasts.
