Location

Alexander County’s location in the northern Piedmont at the foothills of the Appalachian Mountains allows the county to experience the beauty of both the mountains and the Piedmont. The county is bordered on the south by the Catawba River and Lake Hickory and on the north by the Brushy Mountains, one of the oldest mountain chains in the United States.
