Catawba Memorial Hospital is a comprehensive regional provider, offering a full continuum of medical services. The hospitals Cancer Center has been accredited by the American College of Surgeons as the Catawba Valleys only comprehensive community hospital cancer program. Its prostate seed implant program is one of only a few in the state equipped to use brachytherapy. In addition, the Center for Rehabilitation is certified as a comprehensive integrated rehabilitation program by the Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities. The hospitals diagnostic capabilities include state-of-the art MRI and CAT scanners as well as a fully equipped Cardiac Catheterization Lab. Serving as a referral center for the Catawba Valley region, the hospital achieves customer satisfaction ratings of 98%.
The campuses of the medical center system feature an acute and express emergency facility, extensive outpatient services, behavioral health services, a neonatal transport team and two facilities devoted exclusively to outpatient surgery. Frye is known and respected throughout Western North Carolina for its extensive range of healthcare services including cardiovascular and open heart surgery, neurological and orthopaedic surgery, cancer care services, pain and wound treatment, inpatient and outpatient rehabilitation, skilled nursing care, and home health services. Nursing Homes, Assisted Living Facilities and long-term Providers all have excellent facilities in Catawba County. They include Abington Glen Village, Alterra Sterling House, Carillon Assisted Living, Chancellor Health Services/Cambridge House, DePaul Walden House, Grace Ridge Retirement Community, Hickory Manor, Kingston Residence, Spring Arbor of Hickory, United Church Retirement Homes, and Lutheran Nursing Homes.
