About the Chamber
With 400 members, the Clayton Area Chamber of Commerce is the fastest-growing Chamber in Johnston County. Our diverse membership includes small businesses, industries, professional firms, financial institutions, nonprofit organizations, government agencies and individuals.
The Chamber staff works cooperatively with area businesses and local government to promote business and economic development, increase civic awareness and community involvement, and support educational opportunities throughout Clayton and the surrounding areas. We are a resource for information about Clayton, and we assist in recruiting new businesses to the area.
The Clayton Chamber is an active organization that provides a variety of monthly events and activities designed to help members enhance their marketing efforts and increase opportunities for networking their businesses. We also provide professional development opportunities for our members throughout the year.
Among our activities are monthly After Hours, Member Breakfast Exchange, Ambassadors Committee, professional seminars, Annual Awards Banquet, Business Expo, Harvest Festival, Golf Tournament, Clayton Christmas Parade and other special events.

AFTER HOURS
After Hours is the perfect chance to network monthly with other Chamber members in a relaxed atmosphere. Showcase your business by signing up to be an After Hours host.
MEMBER BREAKFAST EXCHANGE
If you can’t get involved in After Hours, join other members for coffee and a light breakfast at the Chamber on the last Friday of each month. Meet fellow Chamber members and find out what the host business has to offer.
AMBASSADORS COMMITTEE
The Ambassadors are a group of professional volunteers who work as the personal representatives of the membership and liaisons between the professional staff at the Chamber, the Board of Directors and the members. The Ambassadors meet monthly for lunch at a member restaurant. In addition, Ambassador Training is held twice annually. PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT
The Chamber works with the Johnston Community College Small Business Center to present speakers on a variety of business topics during Eggs & Issues and Lunch & Learn seminars several times throughout the year.
BUSINESS EXPO
The Clayton Business Expo is sponsored by the Chamber annually. The Expo provides a venue for members and other area businesses to showcase their products and services to the community. The event is open to the public.
HARVEST FESTIVAL
This festival is Clayton’s biggest event sponsored by the Chamber. The annual Harvest Festival brings 20,000+ people to town for a variety of festivities, including a vendor street fair, entertainment, rides, amusements, numerous types of food, a merchant auction and an antique car show. The five-day event is the highlight of the year.
CLAYTON IDOL
This event has become an extremely popular event. Clayton Idol auditions are held the week of Harvest Festival. Finalists perform live on the Main Stage to a packed crowd. The winner of Clayton Idol performs at several Chamber events throughout the year.
HARVEST FESTIVAL GOLF TOURNAMENT

CLAYTON CHRISTMAS PARADE
The Chamber also sponsors the annual Clayton Christmas Parade, which draws hundreds to downtown Clayton in early December to kick off the holiday season.
SPECIAL EVENTS
The Chamber also sponsors other special events throughout the year. The Chamber is proud to sponsor numerous community events, which includes two blood drives during the year. In addition, during the school year, the Education Committee honors a Superstar Education Staff Member and presents them with a gift certificate and goodies from Chamber members.
