The Johnston County Arts Council is the North Carolina Art Council’s designated County partner and there is a spectacular array of cultural outlets near the Cleveland Community that will delight the senses and stimulate creativity.
Located in nearby Raleigh, the Alltel pavilion at Walnut Creek has hosted thousands of events over the years, and is a perfect locale to view the top performing artists in the nation. Lovers of sand, surf and hot jams will love the Triangle Beach Music Festival in Garner. For locally-grown national quality music, try the North Carolina Symphony Orchestra, a full-time professional orchestra that performs 60 concerts a year.
For those searching to participate in the performing arts locally, few small communities have experienced the quality of local theater that has graced the stages of the Neuse Little Theater in Smithfield. Productions are held in the American Legion Log Cabin known as “The Hut” by the Neuse River and the theater thrives with volunteer participation.
