Welcome to Belpre Ohio

Our community is commonly known as a river city located along the Ohio River. We are the “Gateway to Ohio” from Corridor D, US Route 50. We share the Scenic Byway with other river cities. We are actively promoting the economic and tourism activities in Washington County. We work very well with the state, county, and local officials to develop new employment for our community.
We have a regional airport which assists in developing the economic arena.

We also offer the best in recreational facilities in the Ohio Valley. Our four city parks consist of over 30 acres. There are several golf courses in the area for the avid golfer. Youth activities include soccer, baseball, football, tennis, miniature golf, batting cages, and water recreation.

Our historic sites include the Farmers Castle Museum, several early homes, and cemeteries dating in the late 1700’s. Being the second community in the northwest territory, we have many historic areas.

Medical facilities have been a priority for this community. In the past six years, several different types of medical services have been secured for the city. There are also educational institutions within five to fifteen miles of Belpre. Those include WVU-Parkersburg, WV, Marietta College, Washington County Technical School and Washington State Community College.

Our Christian community boasts many denominations.

We are proud of the cooperation that has developed within the church families. There is always a place for you in our religious community.
