Interested in antiques? Then the village of Arcanum is a "must" stop for you. The community boasts several small antique and collectible shops along with Smiths Big Antique Mall. For leisurely shopping enjoyment, the village of Versailles is the place to be. Shoppers can browse the unique collectibles offered at Pax This-n-That and Choices Gifts before enjoying lunch or dinner at the Inn at Versailles.
The county seat, Greenville, offers three distinct shopping districts: historic downtown Greenville, strip mall shopping along Wagner Avenue to the north, and individually owned and operated stores along Sweitzer Avenue to the south. Downtown you will find specialty shops for women and mens clothing, jewelry, musical instruments, coffees and chocolates, books, plus locally made crafts. Shoppers can enjoy the day by stopping to rest at one of the dining spots downtown or enjoy watching fellow shoppers walk by while sitting on one of the many park benches located on Broadway. On Wagner Avenue and Russ Road in northern Greenville, shoppers will find WalMart, J.C. Penney, Staples and Kmart as well as a locally owned ACE hardware store and groceries. Wagner Avenue also boasts several fast food outlets as well as locally owned restaurants. Sweitzer Avenue attracts shoppers interested in appliances and home entertainment centers with two locally owned retailers located in this business district. Sweitzer Avenue merchants include groceries, restaurants, fast food outlets, and automobile dealerships.
