The county seat, Greenville, offers three distinct shopping districts: historic downtown Greenville, strip mall shopping along Wagner Avenue to the north, and individually owned and operated stores along Sweitzer Avenue to the south.

Sweitzer Avenue attracts shoppers interested in appliances and home entertainment centers with two locally owned retailers located in this business district. Sweitzer Avenue merchants include groceries, restaurants, fast food outlets, and automobile dealerships.
