The Village of Holland dates back to 1847 when the first settlers came to this area. The first business in Holland was a brickyard started in 1862. This was the beginning of a well-established business community. Today, the Village is home to the Holland Business Center, a 60-acre industrial complex that houses a diverse mix of manufacturing facilities. In all, over 120 businesses are located within the Village, serving a resident population of more than 1,300.

Holland offers a variety of business incentives, including Community Reinvestment Area abatements on improved properties, and the Job Creation and Expansion program, designed to assist businesses with local grants when increasing the number of employees. Additional incentives, such as the Enterprise Zone and Tax Increment Financing, are available through the Lucas County Improvement office.

Springfield Township was established June 20, 1836. Today, it is a prosperous, energetic community with a deep heritage and a positive vision for the future. The township provides tax relief through its Enterprise Zone, Tax Increment Financing and Community Reinvestment Area Tax Abatement programs. The Township has no municipal income tax.

In Springfield Township, luxurious homes and shopping malls co-exist harmoniously with old family orchards and the pristine Oak Openings Nature Preserve. While the area offers all the conveniences of a big city, it is one of the few communities to have retained its small-town ambiance. This vibrant area deserves serious consideration as a place to build a business or simply to call home.
