Jackson County residents have maintained a strong faith throughout the years, and almost all major denominations have places of worship established in Jackson County.
Churches recognizing such faiths as Apostolic, Baptist, Catholic, Christian, Lutheran, Methodist, Nazarene, Wesleyan and others gather their congregations each weekend to worship.
Jackson County is made up of people who give of their time, effort and finances to help others, evidenced by the large number of civic organizations in the county.
Among the largest are the Jackson Rotary Club, the Wellston Rotary Club, the Jackson Lions Club, the Wellston Lions Club and the Jackson Area Kiwanis Club.
The Jackson Jaycees are one of the largest civic clubs in the county, and each year the club serves as the sponsor of the nationally-known Jackson County Apple Festival.
There are several clubs oriented toward women, including the Business and Professional Women’s Club. There are also many other service organizations and groups that serve to support various factions within the school systems.
