Oakwood's Community Center houses a Teen Center, Senior Citizen Health Center, and year-round classes for all ages and interests. The Fraze Pavilion in Kettering brings some of the biggest names in the entertainment world to the tri-city area each year. A number of festivals and joint events are also hosted by the three cities including: Holiday At Home Parade, That Day In May Festival, and the Moraine Heritage Festival. Museums located in the tri-cities or nearby include: Dayton Art Institute, Oakwood Historical Society, Kettering-Moraine Museum, and the United States Air Force Museum.

The City of Kettering operates under a Council-Manager form of government. The Mayor and six other Council members are elected on a nonpartisan basis for four-year terms. One Council member is elected from each of the city's four districts with the Mayor and two remaining Council members elected at-large.
Moraine
The City of Moraine is very excited and proud of the achievements and dedication of the Kettering/Moraine/Oakwood Area Chamber of Commerce. Tremendous efforts have been made in the spirit of cooperation to meet the needs of the business community, and to promote cooperation and education. We have all gained by the hard work of its members and the citizens of these three communities whose efforts have enhanced the quality of life for all of us. We especially appreciate the help and support given by the Chamber to the City of Moraine. We look forward to continuing working together.
Oakwood
The City of Oakwood is proud to be part of the Kettering/Moraine/Oakwood Area Chamber of Commerce. The Chamber's commitment and efforts to promote cooperation, business development and education enhance the quality of life of each of our communities. By working together we make all of our south Dayton communities better places to live and work. Continuing the work of the Kettering/Moraine/Oakwood Area Chamber of Commerce will assure continued success of all of our communities and their businesses. We look forward to working together. Oakwood's City Council is made up of five nonpartisan members elected to four-year terms on an overlapping basis. The Mayor and Vice-Mayor are selected by fellow Council members for two-year terms. For all the cities, the City Manager is appointed by the City Council as the chief operating officer for their cities.

Moraine's City Council consists of seven members. Three, including the Mayor are elected at-large. The remaining four are elected from Ward Districts on a staggered year basis.
A network of parochial and private schools also operate in the area, offering quality alternatives to the public sector. Colleges and universities in the area include: Wright State University, University of Dayton, Kettering College of Medical Arts, Andrews University, Miami University, Central State University, Antioch College, Wilberforce University, Wittenberg University, Urbana University and Sinclair Community College.
