Streetsboro's Municipal Government has a non-partisan Mayor and City Council.

Streetsboro Police Department is made up of more than 20 full-time and six part-time police officers and seven dispatchers. These officers include four police sergeants, a detective, a lieutenant, and the police chief. There is also one officer who works exclusively with the Portage County Drug Task Force and another working on the local D.A.R.E. program.

The Streetsboro Fire Department protects 13,500 people living in an area of 25 square miles. SFD operates out of a local station with six personnel, has an ISO rating of five and covers one of the fastest growing communities in the State of Ohio. The department services include fire, EMS, Haz-Mat, Search and Rescue and Extrication.

Civic Clubs & Organizations

Streetsboro is the home of numerous civic clubs and community organizations devoted to creating strong ties, providing leadership, and helping the needy. There are many active groups in the Streetsboro area that have charters and members spanning many generations.
