As the first free-standing facility in our region dedicated to heart and vascular care, the Mercy Heart and Vascular Center boasts an experienced team of cardiologists, cardiothoracic surgeons and vascular specialists, working together with nursing and support staff to ensure the best possible outcome for patients. Care is patient-centered, with spacious private rooms featuring large windows, bedside check-in so patients can be taken immediately to the comfort of their own room and a "universal bed" approach – patients stay in one room throughout their stay, and large family gathering areas with kitchen amenities are available. Region-leading technology features include operating rooms equipped with the latest imaging capabilities, advanced diagnostic technology, full treatment capabilities from cardiac catheterization to angioplasty and stenting and the region’s first dedicated endovascular capabilities.
Both systems offer patients the latest in minimally invasive surgical (MIS) approaches through the use of the da Vinci® surgical system. This innovative robotic technology allows surgeons to perform some of the most complex procedures through one to two centimeter incisions, thus significantly reducing the amount of blood loss, pain and length of stay in the hospital.
University of Toledo Medical Center (UTMC)
