Home and family are vital elements of life in our valley. They are the basis on which we build our homes and dreams. We pride ourselves on the fact that our values and community caring set us apart from the hustle and bustle of other fast-growing municipalities, townships, and counties. Therein lies the answer-we consider our county one large community incorporated with love for our neighbor.

Our county realizes the importance our past has upon our future, and has retained many of our stately homes in as near their original conditions as possible. Blocks of turn-of-the-century homes line avenues in cities such as New Philadelphia, Dover, Uhrichsville, and Dennison. Picturesque farm houses, reminiscent of Currier and Ives, dot the landscape of the entire county. Sprawling subdivisions fill the hilly countryside with imagination attributable to the far-reaching dreams and visions of area developers. New subdivisions are found in almost every incorporated city and rural setting in our county. Modern, two-story Ranch, Victorian, and Cape Cod homes line gently curving streets with developers giving special consideration to providing safe neighborhoods for our children. The streets of New Philadelphia's latest development sweep majestically up gently sloping hills and stretch along crests where breathtaking views are measured in tens of miles.

Oak Shadows, a golf course community, features executive homes and condominiums of impressive stature. On the opposite side of the valley is Golf View Estates whose lots overlook Green Valley Golf Course. New Philadelphia's south side continues to attract housing with additions of Creekside Development and Parkview Heights. Located at the east end of New Philadelphia is Honey Valley addition and Easy Street; both offer a country atmosphere close to shopping. Dennison's Deer Hill and Midvale's Estates are nestled in the midst of a forest. The City of Dover offers Schumacher Addition and Parkside, both close to 108 acres of beautiful park land.

Another development on Dover's north side is the DeMattio First addition. Additional development sites are Aspen Woods Condominiums, Becker Creek Farms and North Star Manufactured Home development. At Sandlewood Estates, Hill View Drive and Williams Village developments in Strasburg, you'll enjoy both executive and affordable family homes with easy access to I-77 in a progressive community. In the northern part of the county is Wilkshire Hills. Several allotments offer building sites- South Laurens Drive subdivision, Millburn Square allotment, Chestnut Ridge allotment Pineview Estate allotment, and Woodland Hills allotment. These lots offer hilltop views overlooking a golf course and the Tuscarawas River in a rural atmosphere with a commute of just minutes to Dover, New Philadelphia, and Canton.

The Reeves Home Museum stands stately and proud on Dover's Iron Avenue along with other impressive, turn-of-the-century homes. The home, together with its large, turreted carriage house, dramatically portrays a successful and opulent era in Tuscarawas County history. Cedarwood, Countryside, Aspen Woods, and Oak Shadows condominiums offer the statisfaction of home ownership without maintenance demands, and are located near green fairways and park-like atmospheres in both Dover and New Philadelphia. Apartment complexes are conveniently located near shopping and in the rural sectors throughout the county. Several new retirement communities are being offered in New Philadelphia, Dover, Sugarcreek, and Wilkshire Hills. Tuscarawas Valley is also fortunate to have the East Central Ohio Building Industry Association and the Tuscarawas County Board of Realtors.
