OSU Technology Transfer
Oregon State University’s Office of Technology Transfer (OTT) facilitates the transfer of technologies developed at the university to companies for the commercialization of
inventions. The OTT’s ultimate goal is the commercialization of inventions for the public’s greater use and benefit. The OTT helps to educate faculty and departments on patents and
intellectual property, manages OSU’s patent portfolio, and assists in identifying, protecting, developing and licensing of OSU inventions.
Technology protection, transfer and commercialization is dependent on strong partnerships with the business and development communites. As key participants in these partnerships, the university is currently developing “Innovation Place,” a research park that will bring multi-disciplinary teams and business people together around critical research initiatives.
This 52-acre site will be adjacent to the main campus and will include space for offices, research centers and new businesses. Innovation Place will bring new knowledge, new technology, new intellectual property and new business, stimulating the local and state economies by attracting corporations and creating jobs.
