The area has electric and natural gas available at competitive prices and major transportation facilities. Hermiston has abundant private industrial land and acres of industrial land with “ready to go” sites at the Port of Umatilla.
The favorable transportation facilities and the central geographical location put the county in a most favorable position for industrial development in four principal areas: wholesale distribution, branch office administration, processing and manufacturing of agricultural and forest products and industrial development that particularly requires excellent air, highway, rail and barge transportation networks for regional, national and international distribution.
