Hermiston has several state parks within close proximity. Nearby “Hat Rock” is named after a distinctive rock monolith noted by Lewis and Clark on their travels. Hermiston is a short distance from the fabulous Blue Mountains, which offer a wide variety of fishing, hunting and camping activities.
In the winter, the mountains are home to excellent snow skiing, snowboarding, tubing, snowmobiling and sledding.
