Shopping, Dining and Lodging

Lobby

Shops and restaurants make the area a beautiful place to live and visit. In fact, people come from all over the region to take advantage of the area’s specialty shops.

The county’s small business communities offer retail shops galore, with everything from jewelry, spas, antiques, clothing, accessories, sweets, professional services and much more.

If you are looking for a large mall, Willow Grove Park is the place to go. Built on the original site of a celebrated Victorian-era amusement park, Willow Grove Park has become a popular shopping and entertainment destination in the Philadelphia suburbs. The mall features over 130 shops anchored by Bloomingdales, Sears, Macy’s and soon Boscov’s. Further additions to the mall include a new multi-level parking deck and the refurbished Grove Food area.

Bonefish Grill

Jenkintown’s “Golden Mile” is filled with unique boutiques and specialty shops, relaxing spas, delicious restaurants and great events, such as the annual Jenkintown Summer Sidewalk Sale in June. The Jenkintown Business Improvement District is an organization that was formed in January of 2007. It afforded power to the Jenkintown Community Alliance to enhance the community’s commercial corridors and reinstate the “Golden Mile” as a lively, pedestrian-friendly regional shopping and tourist destination.

Additional sites for shopping in Eastern Montgomery County include Downtown Ambler, which is quickly becoming a top place for dining, entertainment and shopping thanks to the efforts of the Ambler Main Street organization; Keswick Village, which offers great eateries, shopping and entertainment with the Keswick Theater located in the heart of the Village; and a number of community and neighborhood shopping areas that dot the map of the county.
