The Eastern Montgomery County Chamber of Commerce is an action-oriented organization dedicated to promoting its members and the economic health of eastern Montgomery County.

The Chamber is committed to serving as a catalyst by uniting business, community agencies, education and government to make our county a great place to live and work.

HELPING BUSINESSES START & SUCCEED

• Chamber 101 - All new, prospective and veteran members are encouraged to attend Chamber 101, It’s All About Your Business. These meetings are held on the first Friday of each month at 8:30 a.m. at the Chamber office. Learn about the benefits of Chamber membership, meet Board Directors, Ambassadors and the Executive Vice President while enjoying coffee and muffins. This is a great way to familiarize yourself with the numerous benefits and opportunities the Chamber offers.
• BRIC - The Chamber provides FREE professional assistance to small businesses starting, expanding or relocating to eastern Montgomery County through BRIC, a partnership of Abington Township, Penn State Abington and the Chamber. BRIC works with SCORE (Senior Corps of Retired Executives) to match business needs with resources and provides assistance to help businesses succeed. Small business counseling is provided by appointment at the Chamber office.
•Ribbon cuttings - Bring special attention to your new business or a new location by holding a ribbon cutting ceremony, using the Chamber’s giant scissors.
•Rental of Conference Room Space - The Chamber is home to a beautiful new Conference Room. You can host meetings for up to 20 people. To schedule your next meeting, contact the Chamber.
PROFESSIONAL EDUCATION

•Leadership Montgomery County is an experience in personal and professional growth that affords future leaders the opportunity to strengthen their organizational and leadership skills, become more familiar with the community in which they live and work, meet other professionals and network, network, network! With more than 50 graduates from both non-profit and for profit settings, the LMC “network” is growing, and serves both the Chamber and the surrounding eastern Montgomery County region. The program is designed with the assumption that everyone has strengths and talents for leading, helping participants understand and leverage their personal strengths and explore ways of maximizing the strengths of those around them. This philosophy is applied throughout the program, whether it’s discussing how to lead high performing teams and organizations or effect change within the community.

IMPROVING THE BUSINESS CLIMATE THROUGH LEGISLATIVE & COMMUNITY ACTION

• The Chamber is an advocate for business in the legislative and policy-making arena at the local, county, state and federal level and is a member of the Pennsylvania Chamber of Business & Industry and the U.S. Chamber of Commerce. The Chamber regularly hosts public officials at Board and committee meetings, and public forums. Two committees, Legislative Affairs and Economic Development, concentrate on legislative and economic development, transportation and regional planning issues, and frequently meet with government experts in these fields.
• The EMCCC hosts numerous programs allowing members to meet their elected officials and local municipal managers (Breakfast With Your County Commissioners, An Evening With your State Representatives, Breakfast with Your Municipal Managers).
KEEPING YOU INFORMED ON BUSINESS ISSUES

• The Chamber presents expert speakers throughout the year addressing issues such as the “Economic Outlook for 2008,” “The Current and Future State of Healthcare in Pennsylvania,” “How to Save Money by Going Green,” and “How to Maximize Employee Strengths” to name a few.
MARKETING & ADVERTISING
• Your membership provides a FREE business listing—by business category and alphabetically—in our annual Community Profile and Membership Directory, distributed to all members, commercial and industrial prospects, and new businesses, professionals and families in the region.

• Your business is listed on the Chamber’s website with a free hyperlink to your website. To help your listing stand out from the others, members can purchase a BOLD listing on our website.
• Commerce Comments, the Chamber’s print newsletter, emcccMAIL, the Chamber’s e-newsletter and the Chamber website all provide opportunities to showcase your business through advertising.
• Membership Directory: Members may purchase the membership database in electronic format for member-to-member correspondence.
• Welcome Bag: Members may sponsor this beautiful EMCCC Welcome Bag, which is personally delivered to new businesses each month throughout the area. Sponsors may insert a specialty item and literature promoting their business.
FREE INFORMATION & SERVICES
• The Chamber is a source of information on local governments, community organizations and events for both our members and the public.
• Certificates of Origin – members may obtain a certificate of origin for products manufactured in Montgomery County.
• Referral Service - Every day, the Chamber refers individuals, families and other Chamber members to our businesses in response to e-mail, phone and mail requests. We only recommend Chamber members. Next time you need a new service provider, give us a call.
MONTHLY NETWORKING EVENTS
Business card exchanges are hosted by member businesses throughout the region and are held after hours and occasionally during the lunch hour. Between 50-125 business people join us for great networking and refreshments.
CHAMBER COMMITTEES
The work of the Chamber is accomplished through its committees. Committees are a great place for networking and an excellent way to get involved and build valuable relationships. EVENTS & SPECIAL PROGRAMS
The Chamber hosts over 50 events and programs annually, from card exchanges to business seminars to breakfasts with elected officials; there is something for everyone.
ANNUAL BUSINESS EXPO
The Annual Business Expo is the business-to-business event of the year, featuring 100 exhibitors, networking and business resources. This event is held at Bryner Chevrolet and draws over 1,000 area business and community people together.
BEST OF THE BURBS
BEST of the BURBS is an annual three-week celebration presented each fall which showcases the many art, business, charitable, community, cultural, health and sports organizations in eastern Montgomery County.
ANNUAL AWARDS & INDUCTION DINNER
A consistent sell out each year, the Annual Awards and Induction Dinner recognizes those individuals, businesses and organizations who have set themselves apart by making significant contributions to our community. Over 200 business leaders throughout the community attend this annual event. The evening features a welcoming hour, sit down four-course dinner, and the awards and induction program.
ECONOMIC FORUM
The Economic Forum held each winter features a well-known economist/business leader who presents an economic forecast for the upcoming year.
WOMEN’S BUSINESS NETWORK
The Women’s Business Network provides businesswomen with opportunities for support, networking and learning. Monthly luncheon meetings feature guest speakers and opportunities to share and collaborate on issues unique to women in business. d
