Lebanon County is comprised of 25 municipalities, which include 16 second class townships, two first class townships, one third class city and seven boroughs. The County is overseen by three Commissioners who serve as the Legislative branch of government. The Commissioners are elected to four-year terms. Regularly scheduled meetings are held every Thursday at 9:30 a.m. in the Lebanon County-City Municipal Building in Lebanon.

An elected mayor and five city council members govern the County seat, the City of Lebanon. City Council meetings are held at 6:30 p.m. on the fourth Monday of each month in Municipal Building’s City Council Chamber.

Trained and certified fire, police and 9-1-1 personnel provide emergency response 24 hours a day to all in the Lebanon Valley. The departments are very active within the community, teaching fire and safety prevention.
