All faiths and denominations are represented within Lower Bucks County. Religious services, education, volunteer programs and more are open to all. Non-traditional sites for reflection and meditation are also available. Among these are the Garden of Reflection and St. Katharine Drexel Mission Center and Shrine.
The Garden of Reflection in Lower Makefield is Pennsylvania’s official September 11 memorial. Consisting of tranquil water fountains and beautiful gardens, the area is an introspective and peaceful place designed for people to meditate and pay respects to those who perished on that day. It is also a place to give hope and celebrate life.
Offering visitors both an educational experience and faith, the St. Katharine Drexel Mission Center is a serene environment with photographs, artifacts and other exhibits on display. The Shrine, which has been designated a National Shrine, contains Mother Katharine Drexel’s tomb. A variety of programs are presented that include retreats, historic site tours, presentations, lectures and seminars.
