Residents of Lehigh Valley have numerous healthcare facilities nearby to attend to their needs. Hospitals, clinics and emergency treatment centers are available with healthcare professionals available to meet the general and specific medical/dental needs of all residents.
Specialized services are coordinated through the office of Human Services in Hampton County, which provides specialized services for those in need. In addition, a number of agencies provide specialized services for those requiring individualized care. Information for these services is available via the hospitals, chamber of commerce, United Way, or the Yellow Pages.
Emergency services (ambulance, fire, police) are available in all communities in the Nazareth/Bath area.
Pharmacies and medical equipment companies are located throughout the Nazareth/Bath Area to accommodate the needs of residents.
Moravian Hall Square
Moravian Hall Square is nestled on 15 acres in downtown Nazareth and the foothills of Pennsylvania’s Blue Mountains, offering convenient and beautiful settings for retirement living. The town’s offerings — including shops, churches, restaurants, public library, YMCA, banks and medical offices — are just a short walk away.
Moravian Hall Square, which opened in 1988, has been a resource to the community by providing free programming, all with different themes such as: education, entertainment, health and wellness via Senior Pathways, Arts & Artists, Lunch & Learn and Wellness & Vitality. Staff experts, through a speaker’s bureau, provide informative programs to civic clubs and businesses on different important topics for seniors. Both residents and staff have made a concerted effort to support local charities, including the Nazareth Area Food Bank, Alzheimer’s Association and Nazareth Vigilance Hose.
Another way to serve the community is by providing meeting space to various civic organizations. The Nazareth Area Chamber of Commerce Board, the Nazareth Area Rotary Club and the Nazareth Area Ministerium hold their regular meetings in Moravian Hall Square. Special events also take place here such as the Chamber’s annual holiday breakfast and the Nazareth YMCA’s annual Good Friday Father and Son Breakfast. It is easy to enjoy the convenience of a central location, great food and an accommodating staff.
Moravian Hall Square hosts summer outdoor concerts, health fairs and a bi-annual chamber mixer in conjunction with KNBT/National Penn and St. Luke’s University Health Network that attracts businesspeople from all over the Lehigh Valley.
Moravian Hall Square is truly an important part of the Nazareth area as a partner and economic resource. The hall is a nationally accredited continuing care retirement community that provides more than 350 jobs and real estate taxes to Nazareth Northampton Count and the Nazareth Area School District.
The Wellness Committee of the Nazareth Area Chamber of Commerce
The Wellness Committee of the Nazareth Area Chamber of Commerce is a combination of business that provides medical and natural disciplines to promote wellness. Products and services range from: fitness, weight loss, skin care, chiropractic, dentistry, assisted living and traditional medical care. The committee also has providers that promote aging in place, cancer awareness and care as well as insurance providers to cover the cost of many of these services.
The Wellness Committee also offers a complimentary speaker’s bureau that is available to area businesses and organizations on a multitude of topics.
The committee, founded in the fall of 2007, hosts an annual wellness expo and a mini Relay for Life to benefit The American Cancer Society. The Wellness Committee’s mission is to educate the community residents about integrating health support services for wellness and recovery by introducing available medical and natural health services and products.
