Phoenixville is classic through its setting. A traditional downtown, with most of the building stock in tact, Phoenixville provides a picturesque setting for those seeking to return to yesteryear when the downtown was the center of commerce and life in the community.
The Phoenixville historic district is the largest National Register Historic District site in Chester County. The downtown is the heart of the historic district with many of the buildings being restored to their original state, including The Colonial Theatre, Pennsylvania Rail Road Station, Phoenix Steel Foundry Building and Phoenix Steel Superintendent’s Building.
It is also home to Phoenixville Hospital, an award-winning 153-bed facility that partners with University of Pennsylvania Health System, the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia and the Philadelphia Hand Center.
