The Upper Bucks region has long been known, both nationally and internationally, as an oasis for artists of all media.

Since the early 1900s, artists have been continually attracted to the area to live, work and exhibit their impressive artwork. Active area organizations, unique art galleries and prominent venues are not the only reasons why so many artists have chosen Upper Bucks County as their home. The natural beauty encompassing the area is quite inspiring, and the area’s ideal proximity to the cultural centers of New York City and Philadelphia help to make it possible for artists and art-related organizations to thrive in Upper Bucks.
A nonprofit arts education center, the Katie Stauffer Memorial Arts and Cultural Center in Quakertown is dedicated to spreading the understanding of the arts and providing a wealth of opportunities for self-expression. Supplementing the array of adult and children art classes and a calendar year of special events is the Artisans Studio Tour, where visitors can view artists at work, and the Art Shoppe, which sells works created by local artists.
Another nonprofit organization established to support the area’s youth through the arts is the Upper Bucks Alliance for Created Expression. The entity sponsors a variety of concerts and exciting events such as Coffee House gatherings.
