Located along the Susquehanna River, the Susquehanna Valley offers a lush, green landscape of beauty. The gem of Central Pennsylvania, this region covers a multitude of communities and offers accessibility through its network of roadways and railways.

The Susquehanna Valley is the transportation hub of the central U.S., with over 100,000 vehicles traveling the area’s major interchanges each day. More than half of the buying power and over 40 percent of the U.S. population are within 500 miles of the region.

Strategically located, the area is only a three-hour drive from Baltimore; New York City; Philadelphia and Washington, D.C. The heart of the Susquehanna Valley is less than an hour from Harrisburg and Williamsport.

Major highways and interstates connect the Valley to the rest of the country and even Canada. Road travelers can venture east and west via Interstate 80, and on Routes 35, 45, 192 and 522. Route 15 is the main north and south thoroughfare, augmented by several connecting routes.

The Greater Susquehanna Valley is home to a regional airport, the Penn Valley Airport. This commercial airport offers a 3,800 by 75-foot fully lighted runway that can accommodate almost all single- and twin-engine aircrafts. The Harrisburg International Airport is within an hour’s drive, offering both national and international flights via seven major airlines. Harrisburg International provides transportation to over 650,000 passengers yearly.

Major ports in both Baltimore and Philadelphia are only three hours away. Philadelphia offers an export incentive to those companies needing to ship overseas.

SEDA-Council of Governments Joint Rail Authority, Canadian Pacific Railroad and Norfolk Southern separately serve select parts of the Valley, but together, form an extensive rail system that fulfills the needs of the immediate region and beyond.

Susquehanna Trailways motorcoach company transports travelers in the Susquehanna Valley by way of educational cultural tours, private charters and daily scheduled routes.

The Union/Snyder Transportation Alliance provides free transportation, encompassing about 650 square miles, to local human service agencies. The alliance also manages the Shared-Ride Program that offers transport to individuals over the age of 65 for a reduced rate.

Major interstates, access roads, railroad lines and high-speed Internet cables crisscross the Susquehanna Valley, offering companies the key infrastructure needed to run a successful business.
