With this prime location in the heart of the Mid-Atlantic States, residents have easy access to several metropolitan areas. Philadelphia is 62 miles to the south, New York City is 75 miles to the east and Pennsylvanias capital, Harrisburg, is 85 miles to the west. Baltimore, Maryland is 162 miles to the south. Interstate 78 runs through Easton, providing access to New York City, Newark, New Jersey and Harrisburg. Pennsylvania Highway 33 provides quick access to I-78, I-80 and, via Highway 209, to I-84. The Pennsylvania Turnpike NE Extension- I-476 is five miles west of Northampton County, providing access to Philadelphia and I-95, southeast Pennsylvania, Baltimore, Washington, D.C. and, via I-380, the Scranton/Wilkes-Barre area. Pennsylvania Highway 22, a limited access roadway known as the Lehigh Valley Expressway, connects Phillipsburg, New Jersey to the westernmost portion of the Lehigh Valley. Lehigh Valley International Airport, 11 miles west of Easton, offers direct and connecting flights to major U.S. and foreign cities.
LANTA, the Lehigh and Northampton Transit Authority, provides local bus service for Easton, Bethlehem, Allentown and other communities. Reduced rates are available for handicapped riders and those 65 and older. Freight train service is provided by Conrail. An inter-modal (rail-truck) facility is located between Bethlehem and Easton.
