Residential Living

An abundance of parks and open space, for both active and passive recreation, are found throughout the Two Rivers region. Neighborhood playgrounds and municipal parks are plentiful and well-visited.

One of the most notable parks is Jacobsburg Environmental and Education Center, which provides trails for hiking, mountain biking and equestrian activities along the Bushkill Stream.

At Hugh Moore Park, an island park located on the Lehigh River, you’ll find a seasonally operated mule-drawn canal boat ride with a working lock and a lock tender’s house on the historic Lehigh Canal. The Lehigh Canal tow path provides a linear trail for hiking and biking from the Forks of the Delaware River in Easton to Hamilton Boulevard in Downtown Allentown.

Delaware Canal State Park, another linear park, parallels the Delaware River from Easton south to Bristol, Pennsylvania. Picnic and recreational opportunities are strategically placed along this nearly 50-mile long park.

In addition to numerous municipal pools and tennis courts, the area has several public and private golf courses, with two more scheduled to open within the year.

Across the Lehigh Valley, other unique venues provide recreational activities like snow skiing, recreational scuba diving and velodrome cycling. Throw in a couple of hands-on museums, two amusement parks and a pair of water parks, and it’s easy to see there’s no shortage of things to do in the Two Rivers area of the Lehigh Valley.
