West Chester
Location and Transportation

West Chester is located in southeastern Pennsylvania, approximately 30 miles west of Philadelphia and approximately 20 miles north of Wilmington, Delaware. It is easily accessible via Routes I-76 (the Pennsylvania Turnpike), I-956, US202 and PA100.

The Southeastern Pennsylvania Transportation Authority (SEPTA), the nation's fifth largest public transportation system, provides public transit via a vast network of fixed route services - including bus and commuter rail that serves a 2,200-square mile service region. Other regional transportation includes SCCOOT (which operates four weekday trips from West Chester to Kennett Square and Oxford, as well as five weekday trips into West Chester) and Amtrak rail service, which runs on the SEPTA line.

For those that require air travel, the Philadelphia International Airport, the principal gateway for the area, offers approximately 26 scheduled passenger carriers and non-scheduled carriers that serve more than 100 domestic and international destinations. Baltimore/Washington International Airport (which is approximately one and a half hours from West Chester) is home to 55 commercial, cargo and charter airlines that fly across the world.
The Chester County Airport in Coatsville, the major business and reliever airport in the western portion of the Philadelphia region, is equipped to handle most corporate business aircraft throughout the year. Brandywine Airport in West Chester is home to recreational aircraft and a flight school.
