graphicSince education plays a vital role in the present and future success of all students, every school in our district strives to provide the maximum intellectual, social aesthetic, moral, vocational and physical development of our youth. The North Kingstown school district serves approximately 4,500 students in one high school, two middle schools, six elementary schools and an early learning center with approximately 304 teachers.

The Fishing Cove School houses the town’s pre-school and kindergarten program. This innovative educational structure will optimize the child’s preparedness for first grade and beyond. The Parents as Teachers (PAT) program is an award winning child development education program for all families with children (Infant-5).

Our six neighborhood elementary schools support a strong basic education for grades 1 through 5 including the following programs: Young Authors, RI Reading Week, Artist-in-Residence, National Math League, Presidential Academic Fitness Award, D.A.R. Writing Contest, Project D.A.R.E. and the Academic Decathlon. Both middle schools are organized under the concept of interdisciplinary teaming. Teams consist of two to five teachers of the academic subjects-language arts, reading, mathematics, science and social studies. They also offer programs in Intramural Sports, Interscholastic Sports, Band and Chorus.

graphicNorth Kingstown High School, a comprehensive, accredited high school, provides education for approximately 1,400 students from the communities of North Kingstown and Jamestown.
