graphicQuonset Davisville Port & Commerce Park is one of the best-equipped industrial parks on the East Coast. A 3000 acre facility, located on a former Navy base, offers four modes of transportation: land, rail, sea & air for a wide variety of business needs. Parcels range from 2 acres to over 100 acres for a variety of uses ranging from warehouse to manufacturing.

With the deep water piers (totaling 6,800 lineal feet), the closest port to Europe between Rhode Island and Florida, an airport (with an 8,000 foot runway) that can handle private Lear jets to most cargo planes and 23 miles of internal rail-lines with connections to the national freight rail system, Quonset/Davisville can accommodate all business needs, and is designated as a Foreign Trade Zone.graphic

The site has its own freshwater system, a state of the art wastewater treatment facility, and a steam generation plant. With businesses constantly relocating in the park in recent years, the total number of on site employees is over 5500. Amenities within the park include an 18 hole public golf course, public marina, a privately owned and operated child daycare facility, and a medical clinic. The Park’s tenant base consists of international manufacturers, warehouse/distribution and port related industries.

The 143d Airlift Wing of the RI Air National Guard is also based at Quonset. Their mission is to provide upon short notice combat ready aircrews and equipment to transport military cargo and/or personnel as needed throughout the world. The unit is comprised of almost 900 Guardsmen, and several hundred technicians and support personnel.

Historic Wickford village serves the town well with its unique shops and historic ambiance known throughout New England for quality and customer service. The village is the host to the nationally renowned Wickford Art Festival held throughout the village in mid-July as well as the Festival of Lights held the first weekend in December.

Wickford Junction is a relatively new 60+ acre site in the south western section of town anchored by Wal-Mart. Currently 175,000 square feet is utilized with growth opportunity up to 300,000 for additional upscale retail and food service. Office space is available in nearby The Meadows complex for a variety of business services.

Post Road (Rte 1) continues to serve as the town’s main north/south artery and leading commercial district offering a full variety of goods and services.
