North Kingstown hosts three ambulatory facilities offering a variety of health services to our residents and visitors alike: The Treatment Center- located at 7260 Post Road, is an affiliate of South County Hospital healthcare system with more than 25 years of existence in our community. As one of only two urgent-care centers in the state, the Treatment Center is licensed to accept incoming rescue squad ambulances. Attending to both personal and workplace healthcare needs, and backed by the technology and medical resources of the hospital, the center offers a full range of preventive care options in dermatology, podiatry, orthopedics, occupational medicine as well as family medicine. Lab tests and x-rays are also available with processing through South County Hospital. Wickford Junction Medical Walk-In our newest healthcare facility is located at 1051 Ten Rod Road in the southwestern section of town. Their team of experienced medical personnel are available to help you with your general or urgent medical needs. X-ray and diagnostic laboratory services are available on site. Patients have access to medical services on a walk-in basis, however, appointments are available if preferred.Counseling & medical treatment for smoking cessation, STD/HIV (confidential) and stress, anxiety and depression are also available. Memorial Hospital located at 455 Tollgate Road in Warwick. The
second largest emergency room volume in the state. Kent has a full medical
and surgical unit, an obstetrical/gynecological unit, a Neurosurgical
unit, Pediatric and Psychiatric units, a fixed MRI unit is also located
at Kent. The hospitals main phone number is 737-7000. South County Hospital located at 100 Kenyon Ave., Wakefield. South County Hospital is the 80 year old community-based, non-profit regional health care system serving southern Rhode Island. A respected, skilled and board certified medical staff of over 200 represent 47 specialty care areas work in a modern inpatient hospital. The ambulatory care network includes home health care and medical equipment, rehabilitation services and an occupational health program. Emergency medical services include a 24-hour emergency department with emergency medicine physicians, with state of the art cardiac & trauma care and medical helistop. Therapy programs include a cardiac rehab center, respiratory therapy, outpatient pulmonary rehabilitation, physical, occupational and speech therapy, and an occupational medicine program. Diagnostic services/testing include MRI and CT scanning, nuclear medicine, mammography, ultrasound, interventional radiology, cardioplumonary diagnostics, a sleep disorder lab and full-service medical laboratory services. North Kingstown also has a Working Together for Wellness Task Force which was formed in 1988 to determine the conditions in North Kingstown which encourage substance abuse and find remedies for these conditions. This community-wide project, funded by the state, plus grants and donations, works to raise awareness of alcohol and drug abuse issues and sponsors parenting education, youth activities, and programs for the elderly. The Task Force brings together parents, students, law enforcement, the business community and others to provide the energy, ideas, information and need to reduce substance abuse in North Kingstown. South Shore Mental Health Center: Mental and emotional illnesses are as treatable as diabetes and heart disease. The Center is a not-for-profit comprehensive behavioral health organization for Washington County children, adults, and adolescents suffering from mental, brain, emotional, and addictive disorders. We also provide support and/or treatment to their families as well as offering parenting workshops throughout the community. Our adult employment program provides employers with qualified, capable employees who are in the recovery stage. Emergency Services are accessible 24 hours a day, seven days a week for those experiencing a psychiatric crisis or emergency.
