Opportunities for recreational activities, both active and passive, are abundant throughout Fountain Inn. The city offers residents five public parks, totaling nearly 50 acres, and the indoor Fountain Inn Activities Center.
Fountain Inn’s two mini-parks, Georgia Street Park and Fairview Street Park, are equipped with play areas for children and basketball courts, while its two community parks, seven-acre Fountain Inn City Park and 15-acre Woodside Park, feature ball fields and areas for picnicking. In addition, Fountain Inn City Park provides tennis courts on a first-come, first-serve basis, with Woodside Park affording a quarter-mile walking trail. Residents also have access to Sanctified Hill Neighborhood Park.
The Fountain Inn Activities Center provides an array of activities for both youth and senior citizens. The Activities Center houses a full-sized gymnasium for walking, running and basketball, plus a fitness room lined with weight and cardio equipment. Senior adult activities offered here include exercise programs, day and overnight trips, a monthly breakfast, health screenings, educational workshops and much more.
What’s more, the City’s Parks and Recreation Department offers a multitude of youth sports programs, ranging from T-ball, softball and baseball to football, basketball and volleyball.
