The Laurens County Health Care System is a 90-bed medical facility offering specialized programs such as: comprehensive acute care; family-centered maternity care; modern outpatient surgery and diagnostic center; critical care unit with trained CCU medical team; emergency medical services staffed 24 hours; a special cardiac care and trauma center; home health program; Kids Klinic; Cardiac Rehab Program and more. The Laurens County Health Care System has 40 medical doctors on staff, a roster of 20 consulting medical physicians, 12 dentists, a mobile medical van and a regional alliance with three other hospitals. Never losing sight of its mission to deliver progressive healthcare to its citizens, the Health Care System is always a step ahead in offering Laurens County a full spectrum of lifelong care.
Good Shepherd Free Medical Clinic provides free medical care to citizens who are without private insurance, government assistance, or the financial resources to afford such care. The clinic is staffed by volunteers and funded by several other sources, including private donations.
The Whitten Center, located in Clinton, is the South Carolina Department of Disabilities and Special Needs’ largest residential services facility for those individuals with mental retardation or behavioral problems.
Senior Options is a private, non-profit agency focusing on serving the needs of senior adults in order to delay the need for nursing home care. Senior Options relies on support from the county, donations from the community, and volunteer support.
The Laurens County Health Department and Laurens County Department of Social Services provide numerous health-related programs, from training to temporary aid for limited-income families.
