Spartanburg County residents know that the quality of life in the area is virtually unrivaled. From the simplistic splendor of historic Walnut Grove Plantation and the Price House to the glitz of a Broadway play at the Spartanburg Memorial Auditorium, opportunities are plentiful for cultural enrichment. Downtown Spartanburgs Spring Fling, held each May, kicks off a string of gatherings that provide fun, food, and fellowship for those who enjoy outdoor events. Summertime is Panther time in Spartanburg the Carolina Panthers, that is. The summer training camp, held from mid-July until the end of August, offers residents and visitors a chance to get up-close with players and coaches. Over 85,000 visitors have visited the camp in the past five years. Media from around the country and the globe spend their summers here, broadcasting and writing stories datelined "SPARTANBURG."
