Burleson is located along the southwestern edge of the DFW Metroplex, on Interstate Highway 35W and State Highway 174. Economically, the Metroplex produced $318 billion in gross domestic product (GDP) in 2008, ranking it sixth among all regions in the U.S. The Metroplex continues to be a favorable place to do business, as evidenced by it being ranked No. 2 in the nation for corporate relocations, according to Site Selector magazine. The region’s economy is one of the most robust in the nation and is poised for continued growth. The Dallas/Ft. Worth area is the fourth-largest and fastest-growing (by population) metropolitan area in the U.S. Even the unstable national economy hasn’t been able to stop Burleson’s expansion, as evidenced by the development of several major projects in 2009. The City has truly positioned itself as a destination city for the region and the coming decades.

The extraordinary growth the City of Burleson has experienced has made it one of the fastest-growing communities in the area. The city has truly seen a population explosion in recent years, growing by more than 58 percent since the year 2000. Projections indicate population growth of 55 percent over the next decade, and, by 2030, the City’s population could reach 70,000.
