Living in Burleson means you have access to all the conveniences of city life, but keep the relaxed comfort reserved for hometown living. Burleson has a rural community atmosphere, an active community, a low crime rate, an escape from the bustle of a big city and a close commute to the major employment areas of the Dallas/Fort Worth Metroplex. This is one reason why people are rapidly moving to the area. Another reason for Burleson’s growth is the low property tax environment.
While Burleson is expanding quickly, it still offers a variety of housing styles and settings at a much lower cost than the larger cities. The City of Burleson covers more than 26 square miles, with approximately 10 square miles available for development.

Residential construction is ongoing in all corners of the city. Commercial activity has remained consistent despite the national economic downturn. Commercial permits, as well as certificates of occupancies, have matched the numbers seen over the last two years. Significant projects currently under construction include Texas Health Resources, Cook Children’s Clinic, Fort Worth Community Credit Union, and Johnson County Kawasaki. Those projects are in addition to the new Burleson High School #2, the Academy at Nola Dunn, Joshua Middle School, Burleson Recreation Center and Chisenhall Sports Complex. Future projects include an HEB grocery store, ALDI grocery store, more than 300 units of high-quality multi-family development, and the opening of HighPoint Business Park of Burleson.
