The Games of Duncanville
"The Games of Duncanville" celebrated the inaugural event in 2006. The premise is that teams of four travel to different businesses and play games, some of which are inspired by the reality TV shows "Survivor," or "The Amazing Race." Some games are physical in nature. Some are more like mind benders or trivia. As teams travel from venue to venue to play all the games, they accumulate points. At the end of the day, the top three teams compete in The Champions Challenge. In 2006, Team Bug, sponsored by Glenn Carter & Company Pest Control edged out Chick-fil-A of Cedar Hill to win the Grand Prize. Pennebaker Appraisal Group came in a respectable third place. This was an incredible event that has great potential to grow each year. The teams had a wonderful time and are still talking about the day. After Champions Challenge, the spectators and teams enjoyed a concert by Duncanville's own Jerry Lee Keaton while our volunteers served a picnic dinner to those in attendance. The 2007 games will be bigger and more challenging.
