The City of Ennis is set among the gentle, rolling hills of southeastern Ellis County, opening into surrounding farms and open terrain. Just 20 miles south of Dallas, 45 miles east of Ft. Worth and 180 miles north of Houston, Ennis is only a short commute from the area’s major metropolises, while enjoying its serene yet central location.
In addition to the surrounding road system, Ennis can be reached easily in various ways, by air via Ennis’ own Municipal Airport and nearby Dallas/Fort Worth International and Dallas Love Field Airport. The historic Union Pacific Railroad also passes through Ennis, offering convenient freight service.
